Albertus Helsens could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Jean Roels made a huge save. Gert-Jan Dedecker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 17 minutes, Alexandre Lanphan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KV Etterbeek's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexandre Lanphan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 19 minutes into the match, La Furia Roja's goal looked a bit too open when Alexandre Lanphan came free, but Charl Weijnandts reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. La Furia Roja's supporters rose to their feet, but Mateo Peters was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jean Roels breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in La Furia Roja's zone, Gert-Jan Dedecker stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Charl Weijnandts came out of the goal and Gert-Jan Dedecker tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 46 minutes, Gust Meulemans mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the KV Etterbeek and the La Furia Roja players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gust Meulemans kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, La Furia Roja's Jean Roels threw himself towards the right post 47 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Mateo Peters, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mateo Peters to strike the kick off in the second half. Gert-Jan Dedecker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee ignored KV Etterbeek's protests and gave Gert-Jan Dedecker a yellow card for diving instead.
