Maurus Imbrechts fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Will Tombuer having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 13 minutes, Maurus Imbrechts took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Will Tombuer to make any attempt to save it. Will Tombuer was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Maurus Imbrechts showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 20 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maurus Imbrechts in the 23rd minute of play forced FC Geselle City's goalkeeper Will Tombuer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benny Rutgeerts hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Christoffel Baeyens got free with Will Tombuer in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 29 minutes into the match, Club Brugge's Maurus Imbrechts sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Will Tombuer narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Will Tombuer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Christoffel Baeyens in the 35th minute. Christoffel Baeyens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Will Tombuer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Maurus Imbrechts's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Will Tombuer read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Maurus Imbrechts to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jannic Engelboorgs got free with Jeremey Sterks in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. FC Geselle City's Will Tombuer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maurus Imbrechts in the 53rd minute of play. Maurus Imbrechts took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Will Tombuer. Will Tombuer dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. After 71 played minutes FC Geselle City got a freekick which was hit by Christoph Van Landewijck. The supporters of Club Brugge booed when FC Geselle City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jannic Engelboorgs didn't get a good kick on the ball. Will Tombuer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maurus Imbrechts in the 75th minute of play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 76 minutes into the game, when Miguel Portai put in a rough tackle. Miguel Portai kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Despite this Jeremey Sterks quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. FC Geselle City's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
