Tongeren Youth Academy's Tran Hairpoel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Tongeren Youth Academy from getting a goal against them. In the 19th minute, Etienne De Mey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, AS Roma's Etienne De Mey got a free kick in the 21st minute. In the 23rd match minute, AS Roma was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Willem-Alexander Iwens to maneuver through the defense. Maurice Balthazar might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rafael Van Lancker. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rafael Van Lancker came out of the goal and Maurice Balthazar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Maurice Balthazar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rafael Van Lancker read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. After 42 minutes of play AS Roma's Etienne De Mey was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 43 played minutes AS Roma got a freekick which was hit by Etienne De Mey. Willem-Alexander Iwens struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Tran Hairpoel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AS Roma. Gilliam Wigers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Werner Van Hespen stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tongeren Youth Academy's Tran Hairpoel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilliam Wigers in the 52nd minute of play. Willem-Alexander Iwens charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Willem-Alexander Iwens the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 54 played minutes AS Roma got a freekick which was hit by Willem-Alexander Iwens. In the 56th minute, Gilliam Wigers got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to AS Roma getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Willem-Alexander Iwens hit a great ball. After having played for 70 minutes, Gilliam Wigers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AS Roma's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gilliam Wigers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tran Hairpoel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gilliam Wigers's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. Robrecht Seveneijns hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Rene Van Meensel hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. 81 minutes into the game, AS Roma's Isaac De Fauw nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tran Hairpoel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Gilliam Wigers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Tran Hairpoel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Rene Van Meensel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Isaac De Fauw managed to get in a good position for a shot. AS Roma's supporters rose to their feet, but Isaac De Fauw was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tran Hairpoel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Tongeren Youth Academy's Xavier Vandekerkhove got a free kick in the 91st minute. AS Roma's Gilliam Wigers got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 94 minutes of play, AS Roma's Gilliam Wigers made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tran Hairpoel was left in no man's land by his defense there! AS Roma's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
