A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. KV Hanset's Miguel Stevens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hubert Gheysen in the 14th minute of play. Franky Conincx fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Stevens having to interfere. Hubert Gheysen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Miguel Stevens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Miguel Stevens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Franky Conincx, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. In the 25th minute Steff Asselberghs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremy Fraes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Franky Conincx scored 0-1 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Miguel Stevens, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Arsene Laremans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 36 minutes, Arsene Laremans managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KV Hanset's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arsene Laremans was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Robin Claes was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 41st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 43 minutes into the match, Franky Conincx had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Miguel Stevens. KV Hanset's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Franky Conincx was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After a defensive mix-up in KV Hanset's zone, Willem Gressens stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Miguel Stevens came out of the goal and Willem Gressens tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A hard shot 58 in the game by Franky Conincx from a close distance when the talented Miguel Stevens managed to make a qualified save. KV Hanset's players were relieved. A nice corner shot did that Robin Claes got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Miguel Stevens quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Franky Conincx could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Miguel Stevens made a huge save. A hard shot 65 in the game by Franky Conincx from a close distance when the talented Miguel Stevens managed to make a qualified save. KV Hanset's players were relieved. Arsene Laremans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeremy Fraes having to interfere. Miguel Stevens made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Franky Conincx sent off a good shot on target. KV Hanset's Miguel Stevens proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save KV Hanset from getting a goal against them. After 81 played minutes KV Hanset got a freekick which was hit by Victor Haemers. Miguel Stevens made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Franky Conincx sent off a good shot on target. When Willem Gressens came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Schoonbroek fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Willem Gressens couldn't finish the play. In the 88th of the match, Hubert Gheysen tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Miguel Stevens got in the way and made a wonderful save. Franky Conincx's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Miguel Stevens read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. 95 minutes into the match, Schoonbroek's Franky Conincx sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Miguel Stevens narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The Schoonbroek players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
