In the 6th minute, Henk Buelens got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 7th minute, Tibau Neys hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Cesar Vanden Driessche fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hulshout's protests and gave Cesar Vanden Driessche a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Hulshout getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Cesar Vanden Driessche hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Hulshout defense, Claus Van Acker kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gustave Van Den Poel. The Hulshout fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gustave Van Den Poel should have stopped the shot. Gustave Van Den Poel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henk Buelens in the 16th minute of play. SK Oteppe's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Arnaud Van Espen 18 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. Christian Rummens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnaud Van Espen, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. After having played for 36 minutes, Arnaud Van Espen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hulshout's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arnaud Van Espen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 38th minute, Claus Van Acker left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SK Oteppe fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Henk Buelens during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Henk Buelens kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. SK Oteppe's Christian Rummens proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save SK Oteppe from getting a goal against them. The Hulshout players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. SK Oteppe were winning 1-2.

The wind increased when Claus Van Acker made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the game, Hulshout's Hans Van Linthoud nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Christian Rummens made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Gustave Van Den Poel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Claus Van Acker's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. In the 59th minute, Henk Buelens got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in SK Oteppe's zone, Arnaud Van Espen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christian Rummens came out of the goal and Arnaud Van Espen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hans Van Linthoud fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christian Rummens having to interfere. Claus Van Acker could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Gustave Van Den Poel made a huge save. A collision led to Hulshout getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Arnaud Van Espen hit a great ball. Claus Van Acker received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gustave Van Den Poel came out and tried to block the shot, but Claus Van Acker slotted it home off the left post making it 2-4 in the 81st minute. Gustave Van Den Poel made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Henk Buelens sent off a good shot on target. If Claus Van Acker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Hulshout's Niel Rosseels got a free kick in the 90th minute. Gustave Van Den Poel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claus Van Acker in the 93rd minute of the match.
