Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Oliver Caers started the match with the kick off. Hubert Gheysen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Robby Descamps tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, KSV Varenwinkel's Robin Wijngaerts got a free kick in the 7th minute. Hubert Gheysen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robby Descamps having to interfere. The long shot by Robin Claes in the 23rd minute really tested Robby Descamps's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Jeremy Fraes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Oliver Caers's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. After 27 minutes, Franky Conincx mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Schoonbroek and the KSV Varenwinkel players grew even worse after the yellow card. Franky Conincx hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. When Willem Gressens fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Schoonbroek's protests and gave Willem Gressens a yellow card for diving instead. After 31 played minutes Schoonbroek got a freekick which was hit by Willem Gressens. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Carl Swings managed to get in a good position for a shot. Schoonbroek's supporters rose to their feet, but Carl Swings was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Robby Descamps breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, KSV Varenwinkel's Robby Descamps got control of the ball when Franky Conincx tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Franky Conincx managed to get in a good position for a shot. Schoonbroek's supporters rose to their feet, but Franky Conincx was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Robby Descamps breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half KSV Varenwinkel were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Hubert Gheysen made the kick off in the second half. Hubert Gheysen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Robby Descamps tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hubert Gheysen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some careless play in the KSV Varenwinkel defense, Franky Conincx kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Robby Descamps. The KSV Varenwinkel fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Robby Descamps should have stopped the shot. Hubert Gheysen hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. In the 66th minute, Franky Conincx left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Schoonbroek fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. If Franky Conincx had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oliver Caers hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. In the 73rd minute, Franky Conincx made a precise shot to the right of Robby Descamps. KSV Varenwinkel's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. KSV Varenwinkel's Robby Descamps played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hubert Gheysen in the 77th minute of play. The supporters of Schoonbroek booed when KSV Varenwinkel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oliver Caers didn't get a good kick on the ball. Schoonbroek's Franky Conincx got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 90 minutes, Yoeri Vandommele mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Schoonbroek and the KSV Varenwinkel players grew even worse after the yellow card. There was no doubt that Schoonbroek were the better team. Schoonbroek's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
