Miguel Stevens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claus Van Acker, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. In the 9th minute Claus Van Acker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miguel Stevens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emmanuel Putman kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. After 16 minutes of play, SK Oteppe's Henk Buelens made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Miguel Stevens was left in no man's land by his defense there! Henk Buelens charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Henk Buelens the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, SK Oteppe's Henk Buelens got a free kick in the 19th minute. After having played for 27 minutes, Claus Van Acker managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SK Oteppe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claus Van Acker was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 29 minutes into the match, KV Hanset's goal looked a bit too open when Henk Buelens came free, but Miguel Stevens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Christian Rummens made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arsene Laremans in the 30th minute. If Henk Buelens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Miguel Stevens came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by SK Oteppe's Henk Buelens. But to his dismay, Henk Buelens quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. After having played for 42 minutes, Henk Buelens managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SK Oteppe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Henk Buelens was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Claus Van Acker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half SK Oteppe were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Claus Van Acker was the one to do the kick off. Henk Buelens might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Miguel Stevens. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Henk Buelens ran back to his position shaking his head. Miguel Stevens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claus Van Acker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Guust Van Meel during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, SK Oteppe's Guust Van Meel got a free kick in the 59th minute. KV Hanset's Miguel Stevens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claus Van Acker in the 65th minute of play. Steff Asselberghs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christian Rummens having to interfere. If Guust Van Meel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Miguel Stevens was out of position in the 88 minute of play, and Claus Van Acker capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Claus Van Acker really showed his touch with that goal: 1-4.
