The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Schoonbroek's goal looked a bit too open when Arnaud Van Espen came free, but Jeremy Fraes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jeremie Denturck hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Cesar Vanden Driessche kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hubert Gheysen in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gustave Van Den Poel saved Hulshout from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Hulshout's Jeremie Denturck got a free kick in the 21st minute. 22 minutes into the game, Schoonbroek's Hubert Gheysen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gustave Van Den Poel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 27 minutes into the match, Hulshout's goal looked a bit too open when Franky Conincx came free, but Gustave Van Den Poel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnaud Van Espen in the 29th minute of play forced Schoonbroek's goalkeeper Jeremy Fraes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Franky Conincx might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gustave Van Den Poel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Franky Conincx ran back to his position shaking his head. Hubert Gheysen took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gustave Van Den Poel. Gustave Van Den Poel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Franky Conincx took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gustave Van Den Poel. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hubert Gheysen to strike the kick off in the second half. Gustave Van Den Poel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Franky Conincx in the 53rd minute. Gustave Van Den Poel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hubert Gheysen, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. If Hubert Gheysen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Franky Conincx fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustave Van Den Poel having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Hulshout's zone, Franky Conincx stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gustave Van Den Poel came out of the goal and Franky Conincx tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gustave Van Den Poel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hubert Gheysen's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. Hubert Gheysen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustave Van Den Poel having to interfere. Franky Conincx's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 92ndth minute, Gustave Van Den Poel skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal.
