In the 16th minute, Gustav De Meulder hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Giovanny Vergouwen got free with Olivier Hoeybroeck in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luke van Eycken stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Karl Van Hemel's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. Rudi Schepmans's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luke van Eycken read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. Luke van Eycken took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Karl Van Hemel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 26th minute, Jeremey Beetens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Maurus Tilemans to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maurus Tilemans in the 52nd minute of play forced Team invaSion's goalkeeper Olivier Hoeybroeck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Team invaSion fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Olivier Hoeybroeck should have stopped the shot. Olivier Hoeybroeck came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by KFC Ardooie's Maurus Tilemans. But to his dismay, Maurus Tilemans quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. If Giovanny Vergouwen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Giovanny Vergouwen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olivier Hoeybroeck having to interfere. Olivier Hoeybroeck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maurus Tilemans, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 76th minute, Giovanny Vergouwen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 78th minute Maurus Tilemans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olivier Hoeybroeck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Charles-Antoine Algoedt in the 80th minute of play forced KFC Ardooie's goalkeeper Luke van Eycken to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
