Kasper Wortelaert could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Olivier Hoeybroeck made a huge save. Carel van Hagenborgh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Izmirspor's goalkeeper Bastian Huyghens, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 34 minutes, Jens De Baere mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Izmirspor and the Team invaSion players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 33rd minute of the game. One of Izmirspor:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Team invaSion:s goal. If Karl Van Hemel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 46thth minute of the game Rudi Schepmans who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Izmirspor's Bastian Huyghens was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carel van Hagenborgh to make the kick off.
