When Nicolas De Bisschop fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored De pingpongers's protests and gave Nicolas De Bisschop a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, De pingpongers's Nicolas De Bisschop got a free kick in the 3rd minute. In the 4th minute of the match Willem Netels sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tibau Van Beneden skillfully saved the ball. Ronald Vervoort took the ball and in the 8 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tibau Van Beneden. Tibau Van Beneden dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Yanne Du Bois made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bavo Walder in the 16th minute. If Bavo Walder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tibau Van Beneden showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronald Vervoort in the 32nd minute of the match. Tibau Van Beneden didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lorenz Van den Berch went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Ronald Vervoort sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ronald Vervoort recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wesly Van den Panhuizen got free with Yanne Du Bois in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The De pingpongers players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. RAEC Mons were winning 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ronald Vervoort was the one to do the kick off. Yanne Du Bois showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bavo Walder, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. The supporters of De pingpongers booed when RAEC Mons was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lorenz Van den Berch didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to RAEC Mons getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Lorenz Van den Berch hit a great ball. RAEC Mons's Yanne Du Bois played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wesly Van den Panhuizen in the 64th minute of play. 69 minutes into the match, De pingpongers's goalkeeper Tibau Van Beneden had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lorenz Van den Berch. Lorenz Van den Berch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tibau Van Beneden having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronald Vervoort in the 81st minute of play forced De pingpongers's goalkeeper Tibau Van Beneden to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ronald Vervoort sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched RAEC Mons eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
