With a little luck, VV Deurne's Philipp Matthieu got control of the ball when Benny Haesevoets tried to sneak it across the goal line. Henri-Patrick Vrins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Charles Van Hove, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jannis De Wever in the 7th minute of play forced KB Les Mauves FC's goalkeeper Henri-Patrick Vrins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Philipp Matthieu made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Benny Haesevoets sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 11 minutes, Rik De Mey managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KB Les Mauves FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rik De Mey was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Philipp Matthieu was a little too slow when Benny Haesevoets got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 12th minute. The score was now 1-0. After a rather tough play, KB Les Mauves FC's Wayne Bastin got a free kick in the 15th minute. Henri-Patrick Vrins stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Charles Van Hove's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. KB Les Mauves FC's Ignace de Neys got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hubert Theijs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 24th minute, one of KB Les Mauves FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for KB Les Mauves FC. The referee gave VV Deurne a penalty, 27 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Karl Van Beets, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of KB Les Mauves FC's Henri-Patrick Vrins. 1-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ignace de Neys got free with Philipp Matthieu in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 35 minutes into the match, KB Les Mauves FC's Rik De Mey sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Philipp Matthieu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Wayne Bastin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ignace de Neys blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Philipp Matthieu having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in VV Deurne's zone, Rik De Mey stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Philipp Matthieu came out of the goal and Rik De Mey tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Philipp Matthieu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rik De Mey in the 40th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in VV Deurne's zone, Wayne Bastin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Philipp Matthieu came out of the goal and Wayne Bastin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Wayne Bastin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Philipp Matthieu having to make a save. Wayne Bastin struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Philipp Matthieu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KB Les Mauves FC. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 67th minute, Dany-Adams Van de Zande made a precise shot to the right of Philipp Matthieu. VV Deurne's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Rik De Mey recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. KB Les Mauves FC fully deserved thier win.
