Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Fernand Ruelens took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 7th minute, one of KB Les Mauves FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for KB Les Mauves FC. A collision led to KB Les Mauves FC getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Dany-Adams Van de Zande hit a great ball. 13 minutes into the match, KB Les Mauves FC's goalkeeper Henri-Patrick Vrins had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Giles Koninkx. After a defensive mix-up in KB Les Mauves FC's zone, Fernand Ruelens stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Henri-Patrick Vrins came out of the goal and Fernand Ruelens tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ray Marrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benny Haesevoets in the 18th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Giles Koninkx managed to get in a good position for a shot. KAA Oudenaarde's supporters rose to their feet, but Giles Koninkx was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Henri-Patrick Vrins breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Giles Koninkx had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernand Ruelens in the 28th minute of play forced KB Les Mauves FC's goalkeeper Henri-Patrick Vrins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 31 played minutes, KAA Oudenaarde's Henrik Imbereghs shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Henri-Patrick Vrins came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in KAA Oudenaarde reached it. After a rather tough play, KB Les Mauves FC's Janes de Koninck got a free kick in the 34th minute. Ray Marrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ignace de Neys in the 38th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 40 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Benny Haesevoets sped through KAA Oudenaarde's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ray Marrant. Hubert Theijs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ray Marrant having to interfere. Ray Marrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benny Haesevoets in the 45th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Benny Haesevoets made the kick off in the second half. Henri-Patrick Vrins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernand Ruelens, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. The supporters of KAA Oudenaarde booed when KB Les Mauves FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rik De Mey didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ray Marrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rik De Mey in the 61st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rik De Mey in the 63rd minute of play forced KAA Oudenaarde's goalkeeper Ray Marrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 65th minute Giles Koninkx shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henri-Patrick Vrins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fernand Ruelens recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 69thth minute of the game Giles Koninkx who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but KB Les Mauves FC's Henri-Patrick Vrins was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ray Marrant was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ignace de Neys showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-3 in the 71 minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Ignace de Neys managed to get in a good position for a shot. KB Les Mauves FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ignace de Neys was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ray Marrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ray Marrant made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Benny Haesevoets sent off a good shot on target. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Niel Mortier during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, KAA Oudenaarde's Niel Mortier got a free kick in the 77th minute. Matthis Van De Putts lost his temper 80 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Rik De Mey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Ray Marrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ignace de Neys struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Ray Marrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KB Les Mauves FC. In the 91st minute Ignace de Neys shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ray Marrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Hubert Theijs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. KB Les Mauves FC were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
