When Robrecht Persoens fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Battleader's protests and gave Robrecht Persoens a yellow card for diving instead. Robrecht Persoens kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. KAA Bellegem's Edmond Libesoons played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerard Vorster in the 7th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Battleader's Jorn Impens got a free kick in the 9th minute. Sven Boede scored 1-0 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Louis Oelaerts, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind KAA Bellegem's goalkeeper Edmond Libesoons, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Harrie Adriaensens received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Louis Oelaerts came out and tried to block the shot, but Harrie Adriaensens slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 18th minute. 23 minutes into the game, Battleader's Bavo Valckenaerts nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Edmond Libesoons made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. A collision led to Battleader getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Levi Vanden Bossche hit a great ball. In the 29th minute, one of Battleader:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Battleader. The referee gave KAA Bellegem a penalty, 31 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Luckas Valckeners, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Battleader's Louis Oelaerts. 3-1. Louis Oelaerts showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Harrie Adriaensens in the 35th minute of the match. Gerard Vorster sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bavo Valckenaerts received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Edmond Libesoons tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Battleader's Gerard Vorster in the 41st minute got a chance for a shot 41st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye KAA Bellegem's goalie prevented a goal. When Sven Boede came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the KAA Bellegem fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sven Boede couldn't finish the play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bavo Valckenaerts was the one to do the kick off. Bavo Valckenaerts received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Edmond Libesoons tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gerard Vorster could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Edmond Libesoons made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bavo Valckenaerts in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edmond Libesoons saved KAA Bellegem from getting behind. Louis Oelaerts didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sven Boede went, in the 61st minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. If Sven Boede had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Louis Oelaerts made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Harrie Adriaensens in the 67th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in KAA Bellegem's zone, Gerard Vorster stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edmond Libesoons came out of the goal and Gerard Vorster tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Bavo Valckenaerts had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ief Van Balen charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ief Van Balen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to KAA Bellegem getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Ief Van Balen hit a great ball. Edmond Libesoons showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bavo Valckenaerts, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. If Gerard Vorster had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Battleader getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Levi Vanden Bossche hit a great ball. If Harrie Adriaensens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. KAA Bellegem had won after a very even match.
