Franck Louis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marco Delcomte, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Marco Delcomte received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Franck Louis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wilfried Roussel was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 12 minutes into the match. The referee gave Engelbeek a penalty, 14 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Waud Bossuyt, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Staden's Franck Louis. 0-1. A collision led to Staden getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Lennart Louckx hit a great ball. After 21 minutes, Kurt De Raeijmaeckers mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Staden and the Engelbeek players grew even worse after the yellow card. Kurt De Raeijmaeckers kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. 31 minutes into the match, Lennart Louckx notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Engelbeek's Rolf Heers. Rolf Heers was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Marco Delcomte managed to get in a good position for a shot. Engelbeek's supporters rose to their feet, but Marco Delcomte was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Franck Louis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lennart Louckx blasted a shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rolf Heers having to make a save.

In the 54th minute, Marco Delcomte reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Franck Louis. The goal made the score 2-2. When the match had gone on for 59 minutes, Marco Delcomte took a quick shot and it went in 2-3 without a chance for Franck Louis to make any attempt to save it. After 62 played minutes Engelbeek got a freekick which was hit by Joris Vanden Berghe. After 66 minutes, Alain Hoes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Staden and the Engelbeek players grew even worse after the yellow card. Joris Vanden Berghe's late challenge caught a Staden's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joris Vanden Berghe helped the player get up and apologised. In the 74th match minute, Engelbeek was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joris Vanden Berghe to maneuver through the defense. If Ive Loozen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 95th minute, Engelbeek's Marco Delcomte ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Franck Louis. Franck Louis yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-4. When the final whistle sounded Engelbeek left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Staden.
