The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Francois Schaerlaekens hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Lionel Dekker showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ludwig Luijten, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. In the 12th minute, Lars De Hertoghe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Matt Caers didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 14th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ludwig Luijten during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ludwig Luijten hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. After 19 minutes of play, Zele's Ludwig Luijten made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. A very good chance. With his leg Matt Caers managed to avoid a goal in the 28thth minute, when TAFKAZ's Luckas Van Aertvin fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Luckas Van Aertvin made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 32ndth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Matt Caers would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. The crowd rose to their feet as Lars De Hertoghe kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Matt Caers. That made the score 2-1 in the 34 minute of play. If Lars De Hertoghe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Luckas Van Aertvin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ludwig Luijten made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Zele's Giovanny Van Den Brande got a free kick in the 52nd minute. In the 53rd minute, Alek De Winter sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Zele's Matt Caers didn't even have to move. 56 minutes into the match, TAFKAZ's Lars De Hertoghe sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Matt Caers narrowly saved just below the crossbar. TAFKAZ's Luckas Van Aertvin got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 67 played minutes TAFKAZ got a freekick which was hit by Francois Schaerlaekens. Lionel Dekker acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 68th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Maurus Labrouche. Lionel Dekker was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ludwig Luijten showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-2 in the 73 minute of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. TAFKAZ had played much better football throughout.
