Jannis Van Hamme came out of the goal and Gwenn Steurms tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 15 minutes, Dante De Keyser managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. RSC Gottignies's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dante De Keyser was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Yanniek De Fever charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Yanniek De Fever the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, KFC Herent's Yanniek De Fever got a free kick in the 16th minute. Gwenn Steurmss short, quick shot in the 18thth minute got Jannis Van Hamme to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 20 minutes into the game, Raf Wuijts was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. KFC Herent's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave RSC Gottignies the free kick. Bryan Poels received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Yanniek den Pelsmaeker tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bryan Poels was the one to do the kick off. KFC Herent's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gwenn Steurms in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jannis Van Hamme prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
