After 18 minutes, Dante De Keyser mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the RSC Gottignies and the RS oostnieuwkerke players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gwenn Steurms could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Maurus Koppens made a huge save. An unexpected shot in the 24th minute by Gwenn Steurms got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Maurus Koppens came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by RSC Gottignies's Gwenn Steurms. But to his dismay, Gwenn Steurms quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. If Robbrecht Van Craen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Robbrecht Van Craen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. RS oostnieuwkerke's supporters rose to their feet, but Robbrecht Van Craen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Yanniek den Pelsmaeker breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dante De Keyser stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Robbrecht Van Craen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Maurus Koppens prevented the ball from getting in the gole. RSC Gottignies's Gwenn Steurms got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Maurus Koppens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dante De Keyser, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. If Gwenn Steurms had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st match minute, RSC Gottignies was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Simon Coeckelberghs to maneuver through the defense. When Rudi Bauwens was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 74 minutes had been played. A collision led to RSC Gottignies getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Rudi Bauwens hit a great ball. A hard shot 77 in the game by Robbrecht Van Craen from a close distance when the talented Yanniek den Pelsmaeker managed to make a qualified save. RSC Gottignies's players were relieved. Maurus Koppens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gwenn Steurms, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gwenn Steurms blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Maurus Koppens having to make a save. Maurus Koppens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gwenn Steurms in the 89th minute of play. Gwenn Steurms struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Maurus Koppens didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for RSC Gottignies.
