Spectators: 7469 (Terracing: 5603, Seating: 1717, VIP seats: 149) Harrie Imbreghts made the kick off and thus started the match. Verrebeke's Glen Vissenaekens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ben Van den Broeck in the 8th minute of play. Cederique Van de Goor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerom Maerschalckx having to interfere. In the 11th match minute, royal antwerp fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stephen Van der Veeken to maneuver through the defense. Harrie Imbreghts struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Jerom Maerschalckx didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Verrebeke. After 16 minutes of play, royal antwerp fc's Ben Van den Broeck made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Glen Vissenaekens was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 23rd minute, Regis Wigers got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 25th minute Ben Van den Broeck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Glen Vissenaekens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, royal antwerp fc's Jerom Maerschalckx got control of the ball when Cederique Van de Goor tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 31st minute, one of royal antwerp fc:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for royal antwerp fc. In the 33rd minute there was a penalty for Verrebeke. Cederic Kerkhofs stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Jerom Maerschalckx. 1-1. After some careless play in the royal antwerp fc defense, Cederique Van de Goor kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jerom Maerschalckx. The royal antwerp fc fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jerom Maerschalckx should have stopped the shot. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ben Van den Broeck was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Verrebeke getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Kris Beullens hit a great ball. 70 minutes into the match, royal antwerp fc's goal looked a bit too open when Harrie Imbreghts came free, but Jerom Maerschalckx reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Glen Vissenaekens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ben Van den Broeck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Regis Wigers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Glen Vissenaekens having to interfere. Ben Van den Broeck recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Cederique Van de Goor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jerom Maerschalckx showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Harrie Imbreghts in the 81st minute of the match. Verrebeke's Glen Vissenaekens proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Verrebeke from getting a goal against them. 86 minutes into the match, royal antwerp fc's goal looked a bit too open when Cederique Van de Goor came free, but Jerom Maerschalckx reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 87th minute, Harrie Imbreghts got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 92nd minute, Ben Van den Broeck fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Glen Vissenaekens, passed just outside the right post. After 93 minutes of play, royal antwerp fc's Regis Wigers made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Glen Vissenaekens was left in no man's land by his defense there! The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
