After having played for 7 minutes, Roderik Mathijs managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club MichÆl's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roderik Mathijs was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to royal antwerp fc getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Emmanuel Pannekoek hit a great ball. 11 minutes into the match, Regis Wigers notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Club MichÆl's Quentin Klopterop. Quentin Klopterop was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Guy de Nijs kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Stephen Van der Veeken recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 19 minutes, Emmanuel Pannekoek mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the royal antwerp fc and the Club MichÆl players grew even worse after the yellow card. Emmanuel Pannekoek hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. If Regis Wigers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jerom Maerschalckx showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frits Wirinckx in the 34th minute of the match. Jerom Maerschalckx made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Frits Wirinckx sent off a good shot on target. Regis Wigers took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Quentin Klopterop. Quentin Klopterop dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Frits Wirinckx made the kick off in the second half. royal antwerp fc's Regis Wigers got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Regis Wigerss short, quick shot in the 58thth minute got Quentin Klopterop to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Quentin Klopterop was out of position in the 63 minute of play, and Luke Feys capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Luke Feys really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. The supporters of Club MichÆl booed when royal antwerp fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joos Rutten didn't get a good kick on the ball. The long shot by Emmanuel Pannekoek in the 69th minute really tested Quentin Klopterop's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. 70 minutes into the match, royal antwerp fc's Regis Wigers sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Quentin Klopterop narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 74 minutes into the match, Club MichÆl's goalkeeper Quentin Klopterop had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Regis Wigers. In the 77th match minute, royal antwerp fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stephen Van der Veeken to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 79 minutes, Ben Van den Broeck took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Quentin Klopterop to make any attempt to save it. In the 86th minute, Frits Wirinckx got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Regis Wigers could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Quentin Klopterop made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Club MichÆl's zone, Regis Wigers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Quentin Klopterop came out of the goal and Regis Wigers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Quentin Klopterop made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Regis Wigers sent off a good shot on target. royal antwerp fc's Qwinten Van Cruchten shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 97th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Quentin Klopterop but with some difficulty. royal antwerp fc's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
