If Rein Denys had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 8 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for RACING BRUSSELS! 12 minutes into the game, Rein Denys cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Steve Pelleman was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 15 minutes into the game, Sammy Roeland was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Schrikhoek's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave RACING BRUSSELS the free kick. The supporters of RACING BRUSSELS booed when Schrikhoek was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sammy Roeland didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd minute Rein Denys shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Steve Pelleman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Glenn Van Meensel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Steve Pelleman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Manu Goemyne fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored RACING BRUSSELS's protests and gave Manu Goemyne a yellow card for diving instead. Manu Goemyne kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. In the 31st minute of the match Mattheo Vercouteren shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Steve Pelleman showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 32 minutes into the game, Glenn Van Meensel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Schrikhoek's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave RACING BRUSSELS the free kick. A collision led to Schrikhoek getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Glenn Van Meensel hit a great ball. Rein Denys received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Steve Pelleman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Glenn Van Meensel scored 0-2 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Steve Pelleman, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Schrikhoek's Rein Denys in the 44th minute got a chance for a shot 44th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye RACING BRUSSELS's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in RACING BRUSSELS's zone, Glenn Van Meensel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Steve Pelleman came out of the goal and Glenn Van Meensel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half Schrikhoek were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rein Denys to strike the kick off in the second half. Sam Van Deinze showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kristiaan Van Houdtvinck, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. In the 54th match minute, Schrikhoek was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sammy Roeland to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Schrikhoek getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Sammy Roeland hit a great ball. RACING BRUSSELS's Steve Pelleman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save RACING BRUSSELS from getting a goal against them. Glenn Van Meensel could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Steve Pelleman made a huge save. After 80th play minutes Glenn Van Meensel shot 0-3, a short shot which went by Steve Pelleman and just under the crossbar into goal. Glenn Van Meensel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Steve Pelleman having to interfere. Boudewijn Van de Poel could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Steve Pelleman made a huge save. Schrikhoek's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
