Guy Van Haght sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Ian Ombelets managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sparta Waarschoot's supporters rose to their feet, but Ian Ombelets was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Harald Van Lancker breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 26 minutes, Guy Van Haght managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sparta Waarschoot's supporters crossed their fingers, but Guy Van Haght was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 27th minute, Wout De Meyer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Olivier De Ceijser had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Sparta Waarschoot getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Ian Ombelets hit a great ball. 32 minutes into the game, Lode Elssen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sparta Waarschoot's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Blue Army the free kick. Lode Elssen hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. When Abel Reijckmans came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Blue Army fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abel Reijckmans couldn't finish the play. Sparta Waarschoot's George De Fever played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olivier De Ceijser in the 41st minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The audience was convinced that Guy Van Haght's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Harald Van Lancker was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. Guy Van Haght fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Harald Van Lancker having to interfere. George De Fever showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Olivier De Ceijser in the 78th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 81 minutes, Olivier De Ceijser put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of George De Fever. In the 89thth minute of the game Olivier De Ceijser who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sparta Waarschoot's George De Fever was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Ian Ombelets fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sparta Waarschoot's protests and gave Ian Ombelets a yellow card for diving instead. Olivier De Ceijser received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. George De Fever tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Blue Army were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Sparta Waarschoot for a fine match.
