Sparta Waarschoot's Serge Van den Berghe suffered a sore thigh after 2 minutes and couldn't finish the game. A collision led to Team Vleesklak getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Gill Delen hit a great ball. Guy Van Haght received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Jules Oelemans tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match clock showed 8 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Bavo Hoolemans sped through Sparta Waarschoot's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of George De Fever. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Gill Delen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Team Vleesklak's supporters rose to their feet, but Gill Delen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. George De Fever breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 18 minutes into the match, Team Vleesklak's Gill Delen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that George De Fever narrowly saved just below the crossbar. George De Fever made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bavo Hoolemans in the 26th minute of play. Team Vleesklak's Sergio Jaddon got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. George De Fever didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bavo Hoolemans went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The wind increased when Guy Van Haght made the kick off in the second half. If Gill Delen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Team Vleesklak's Bavo Hoolemans slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of George De Fever. That made the score 0-4 after 54 minutes of play. Sergio Jaddon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. In the 64th minute, Bavo Hoolemans left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Team Vleesklak fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. Bavo Hoolemans recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 73 minutes into the match, Sparta Waarschoot's goalkeeper George De Fever had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bavo Hoolemans. George De Fever made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Bavo Hoolemans sent off a good shot on target. Bavo Hoolemans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without George De Fever having to interfere. 84 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sparta Waarschoot's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jacob Vandommele was slow to take the kick. During this time Team Vleesklak's players had a chance to rest. Team Vleesklak's Jacob Vandommele was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but George De Fever in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Sparta Waarschoot's Guy Van Haght got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 88 minutes into the match, Sparta Waarschoot's goalkeeper George De Fever had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bavo Hoolemans. Sparta Waarschoot's George De Fever proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Sparta Waarschoot from getting a goal against them. Team Vleesklak played a much better game than Sparta Waarschoot and deserved their victory. The Sparta Waarschoot players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
