Freddy Wyns showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antonio Koninkx, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Jorg Van Dongel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lennart Vincke having to interfere. Gwenn Roukeloes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Jorg Van Dongel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gwenn Roukeloes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Lennart Vincke tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Gwenn Roukeloes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Axell Helssens shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Freddy Wyns made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antonio Koninkx in the 30th minute of play. 33 minutes into the game, SK Kolegem's Antonio Koninkx nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Freddy Wyns made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 36th minute, Niels Standaerts hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Antonio Koninkx might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Freddy Wyns. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Antonio Koninkx ran back to his position shaking his head. 47 minutes into the game, Roderik Roelants cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Freddy Wyns was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After the first half SK Kolegem were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Roderik Roelants to strike the kick off in the second half. Lennart Vincke didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gwenn Roukeloes went, in the 61st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Kv.Mechelen's Matias Struijf got a free kick in the 65th minute. In the 68th minute Gwenn Roukeloes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lennart Vincke saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gwenn Roukeloes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Lennart Vincke tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gwenn Roukeloes in the 74th minute of play forced SK Kolegem's goalkeeper Lennart Vincke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Antonio Koninkx fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Freddy Wyns having to interfere. Lennart Vincke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gwenn Roukeloes in the 83rd minute of play. When Antonio Koninkx came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the SK Kolegem fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antonio Koninkx couldn't finish the play. Roderik Roelants recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Roderik Roelants struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Freddy Wyns didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SK Kolegem. Roderik Roelants fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Freddy Wyns having to interfere. Kv.Mechelen's Freddy Wyns proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 98th minute of the match, managed to save Kv.Mechelen from getting a goal against them. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. SK Kolegem had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
