Natan Manaers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Kristof Van den Broeck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 26th minute, Dominik Dhondt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Max Caers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustave Weijgaerts having to interfere. In the 30th match minute, Sporting Lokeren was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dominik Dhondt to maneuver through the defense. Kristof Van den Broeck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adolf Persoons in the 31st minute of play. When Joris Vandenbosch came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Sporting Lokeren fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joris Vandenbosch couldn't finish the play. After 37 played minutes Sporting Lokeren got a freekick which was hit by Dominik Dhondt. When Adolf Persoons came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the S.E.R. fans jumped to their feet. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing S.E.R. would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
