Sebbe Vergouwen hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. When Bob Blanchaert came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Hamme-Mille fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bob Blanchaert couldn't finish the play. Freddy Wyns showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bob Blanchaert, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. The supporters of Hamme-Mille booed when Kv.Mechelen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matthis Decaluwe didn't get a good kick on the ball.
