Goffrey Van Laer could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Teo De nuijter made a huge save. Piet De Rijck charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Piet De Rijck the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 13th match minute, BluB FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Piet De Rijck to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in BluB FC's zone, Charles-Louis Audenaert stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eric Van Buyten came out of the goal and Charles-Louis Audenaert tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kristen Jaspers kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Kristen Jaspers was shown his second yellow card after 47 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 48th minute, Kristen Jaspers hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Charles-Louis Audenaert to make the kick off. When Charles-Louis Audenaert came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Squadra Mercator Press fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Charles-Louis Audenaert couldn't finish the play. 58 minutes into the game, Squadra Mercator Press's Etienne De Witte nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eric Van Buyten made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Goffrey Van Laer in the 65th minute of play forced Squadra Mercator Press's goalkeeper Teo De nuijter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 66th minute, Thierry Carpenter got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Etienne De Witte could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Eric Van Buyten made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Charles-Louis Audenaert in the 71st minute of play forced BluB FC's goalkeeper Eric Van Buyten to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Etienne De Witte struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Eric Van Buyten didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Squadra Mercator Press. Charles-Louis Audenaert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Eric Van Buyten tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Etienne De Witte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 82nd minute, Thierry Carpenter left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The BluB FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Charles-Louis Audenaert in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eric Van Buyten saved BluB FC from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Squadra Mercator Press's Peter-Jan Declercq got a free kick in the 90th minute. In the 93rd minute of the match BluB FC got a corner. Squadra Mercator Press's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Piet De Rijck ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Nicky Driesen got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 2-2. 93 minutes into the match.
