In the 7th match minute, De Fenix boys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Augustijn Wautiers to maneuver through the defense. Tibo De Messemaecker's late challenge caught a De Fenix boys's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tibo De Messemaecker helped the player get up and apologised. Tibo De Messemaecker hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. When the match clock showed 16 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Fernand de Pelsmaker sped through AFC Hompre's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Luke Van Den Abeele. A collision led to De Fenix boys getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Gunter Van Linthaudt hit a great ball. If Charly De Wever had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind De Fenix boys's goalkeeper Billie Van der Roost, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Kieth Coopmans fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored De Fenix boys's protests and gave Kieth Coopmans a yellow card for diving instead. Kieth Coopmans kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. 26 minutes in the game, Dreas Gendre fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Billie Van der Roost having to interfere. In the 32nd minute, Fernand de Pelsmaker got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luke Van Den Abeele took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pierre-Olivier Degryse, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Fernand de Pelsmaker came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the De Fenix boys fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fernand de Pelsmaker couldn't finish the play. Pierre-Olivier Degryse sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Billie Van der Roost made an important save on a dangerous shot by Charly De Wever in the 40th minute. Fernand de Pelsmaker recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the AFC Hompre defense, Pierre-Olivier Degryse kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luke Van Den Abeele. The AFC Hompre fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luke Van Den Abeele should have stopped the shot. When Fernand de Pelsmaker came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the De Fenix boys fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fernand de Pelsmaker couldn't finish the play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dreas Gendre to make the kick off. The audience held their breath when Jordi Correyns in the 60th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Billie Van der Roost's left hand side. Dreas Gendre sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luke Van Den Abeele had great luck who in the 64thth minute grab hold of the ball when Pierre-Olivier Degryse from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Fernand de Pelsmaker recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, AFC Hompre's Luke Van Den Abeele got control of the ball when Fernand de Pelsmaker tried to sneak it across the goal line. Luke Van Den Abeele was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Pierre-Olivier Degryse showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 70 minute of play. Fernand de Pelsmaker in the 75thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Luke Van Den Abeele, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Fernand de Pelsmaker came free with the goalkeeper in the 77th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Luke Van Den Abeele could save by the left post. When the match had gone on for 77 minutes, Fernand de Pelsmaker took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Luke Van Den Abeele to make any attempt to save it. After 81 minutes AFC Hompre's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Diederik Van Maestricht who took care of the corner kick. Luke Van Den Abeele was out of position in the 83 minute of play, and Kieth Coopmans capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Kieth Coopmans really showed his touch with that goal: 0-5. With a little luck, AFC Hompre's Luke Van Den Abeele got control of the ball when Kieth Coopmans tried to sneak it across the goal line. 91 minutes into the match, De Fenix boys's Diederik Van Maestricht broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal.
