Werner Jooris made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dreas Gendre in the 5th minute of play. KV Valkenberg's Werner Jooris played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dreas Gendre in the 7th minute of play. 10 minutes into the match, KV Valkenberg's goal looked a bit too open when Dreas Gendre came free, but Werner Jooris reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 13th minute, Charly De Wever got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, KV Valkenberg's Adolf De Spiegeleire got a free kick in the 31st minute. Paul Robin kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in KV Valkenberg's zone, Dreas Gendre stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Werner Jooris came out of the goal and Dreas Gendre tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Charly De Wever had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. AFC Hompre's Dreas Gendre got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tibo De Messemaecker hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. In the 46th minute, Thibau Gijselinx got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sebastian De Keijser to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 54 minutes, Thibau Gijselinx managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KV Valkenberg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thibau Gijselinx was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Werner Jooris was a little too slow when Tibo De Messemaecker got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 57th minute. The score was now 1-1. Thibau Gijselinx's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luke Van Den Abeele read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sebastian De Keijser in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luke Van Den Abeele saved AFC Hompre from getting behind. 68 minutes into the match, KV Valkenberg's goalkeeper Werner Jooris had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Charly De Wever. In the 70th minute Sebastian De Keijser shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luke Van Den Abeele saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. AFC Hompre's Luke Van Den Abeele played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thibau Gijselinx in the 74th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastian De Keijser in the 76th minute of play forced AFC Hompre's goalkeeper Luke Van Den Abeele to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Denis Wouters charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Denis Wouters the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee gave AFC Hompre a penalty, 85 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Jordi Correyns, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of KV Valkenberg's Werner Jooris. 1-2. 90 minutes into the game, Antoine Van Leempten was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AFC Hompre's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KV Valkenberg the free kick. Antoine Van Leempten kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Charly De Wever sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paul Robin kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. AFC Hompre's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
