After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Gust Van der Borght managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club brugge's supporters rose to their feet, but Gust Van der Borght was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rens Van Der Weghen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. George De nuijter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gaetan Creemers, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Gustaaf Helssen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but George De nuijter made a huge save. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind AFC Bucquoi's goalkeeper Rens Van Der Weghen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rens Van Der Weghen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yanick Wuets in the 47th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gust Van der Borght was the one to do the kick off. In the 84th minute, Yanick Wuets got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 86 minutes into the match, AFC Bucquoi's goal looked a bit too open when Gust Van der Borght came free, but Rens Van Der Weghen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
