Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Albert Eggermont took the kick off in the first half of the match. When Teo Coekelbergh came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Wolvertem-Merchtem fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Teo Coekelbergh couldn't finish the play. If Nicolas Kerstens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Henk Snieders made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Matias Van den Maegdenbergh sent off a good shot on target. Nicolas Kerstens blasted a shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Henk Snieders having to make a save. Albert Eggermont recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Henk Snieders made an important save on a dangerous shot by Matias Van den Maegdenbergh in the 16th minute. Wolvertem-Merchtem's Jannes Meulemans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erik Swiggers in the 25th minute of play. 26 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Wellen's Albert Eggermont fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Teo Coekelbergh might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Henk Snieders. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Teo Coekelbergh ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Matias Van den Maegdenbergh managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wolvertem-Merchtem's supporters rose to their feet, but Matias Van den Maegdenbergh was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Henk Snieders breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nicolas Kerstens might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Henk Snieders. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nicolas Kerstens ran back to his position shaking his head. Teo Coekelberghs short, quick shot in the 40thth minute got Henk Snieders to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Teo Coekelbergh came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Wolvertem-Merchtem fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Teo Coekelbergh couldn't finish the play. Matias Van den Maegdenbergh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henk Snieders having to interfere. If Andries Lingier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 48th minute the ball was on its way in behind Wellen's goalkeeper Henk Snieders, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Teo Coekelbergh stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nicolas Kerstens in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Henk Snieders saved Wellen from getting behind. After 53 minutes, Floris Van der Veeren mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Wellen and the Wolvertem-Merchtem players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Wellen getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Floris Van der Veeren hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Teo Coekelbergh in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Henk Snieders prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jannes Meulemans made an important save on a dangerous shot by Erik Swiggers in the 58th minute. In the 60th minute, Nicolas Kerstens got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Teo Coekelbergh took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Henk Snieders. Henk Snieders dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Andris Imbereghs kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Wellen defense, Matias Van den Maegdenbergh kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Henk Snieders. The Wellen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Henk Snieders should have stopped the shot. Nicolas Kerstens's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Henk Snieders read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. Wolvertem-Merchtem's Andries Lingier got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Teo Coekelbergh in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Henk Snieders prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Teo Coekelbergh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Henk Snieders tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sam Jooris in the 83rd minute of play forced Wellen's goalkeeper Henk Snieders to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 84 minutes, Teo Coekelbergh managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wolvertem-Merchtem's supporters crossed their fingers, but Teo Coekelbergh was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 86th minute, Nicolas Kerstens left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Wolvertem-Merchtem fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. If Matias Van den Maegdenbergh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wolvertem-Merchtem's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
