Quintessence's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kluisbergen the free kick. Arthur Claevers hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. In the 9th match minute, Kluisbergen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kris Luyten to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 10 minutes, Philipp De Raemaekers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Quintessence's supporters crossed their fingers, but Philipp De Raemaekers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Hannes Rutgeerts had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kristiaan Schellekens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Gilliam Jannis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Quintessence's Gilliam Jannis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Quintessence from getting a goal against them. Kristiaan Schellekens's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 20thth minute, Gilliam Jannis skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. A collision led to Quintessence getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Joery Dejonckheere hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Hannes Rutgeerts's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gilliam Jannis was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. In the 31st minute Hannes Rutgeerts shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilliam Jannis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Reinard Van Meerbeec made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michael Boffin in the 40th minute of play. The Kluisbergen fans' excitement grew in the 41st match minute when Kluisbergen's Hannes Rutgeerts looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 48 minutes into the game, Kluisbergen's Kristiaan Schellekens nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gilliam Jannis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Hannes Rutgeerts made the kick off in the second half. After 56 played minutes Kluisbergen got a freekick which was hit by Kristiaan Schellekens. 59 minutes into the match, Kluisbergen's goalkeeper Reinard Van Meerbeec had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Michael Boffin. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hannes Rutgeerts in the 64th minute of play forced Quintessence's goalkeeper Gilliam Jannis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gilliam Jannis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hannes Rutgeerts, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. When Hannes Rutgeerts came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Kluisbergen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hannes Rutgeerts couldn't finish the play. Gilliam Jannis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hannes Rutgeerts in the 70th minute of the match. A collision led to Quintessence getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Joery Dejonckheere hit a great ball. Gilliam Jannis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kristiaan Schellekens in the 74th minute of play. If Arthur Claevers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hannes Rutgeerts in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gilliam Jannis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 82 minutes, Matthew Vanderhaege mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Quintessence and the Kluisbergen players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 82nd minute, Matthew Vanderhaege hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gilliam Jannis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hannes Rutgeerts, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Quintessence's Gilliam Jannis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kristiaan Schellekens in the 90th minute of play. Arthur Claevers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reinard Van Meerbeec having to interfere. The supporters of Kluisbergen booed when Quintessence was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joery Dejonckheere didn't get a good kick on the ball. Christoff Terhorst fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilliam Jannis having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Quintessence players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Kluisbergen.
