Gilliam Jannis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. After 24 played minutes, Quintessence's Rolf Vereijt shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Charles-Louis Van Der Straeten came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Quintessence reached it. Charles-Louis Van Der Straeten showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arthur Claevers, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Michael Boffin received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Charles-Louis Van Der Straeten came out and tried to block the shot, but Michael Boffin slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 30th minute. 34 minutes into the match, Camiel Haeselaers had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gilliam Jannis. Quintessence's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Camiel Haeselaers was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Camiel Haeselaers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Charles Standaerts in the 48th minute of play forced Quintessence's goalkeeper Gilliam Jannis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

In the 57th minute Enzo Minnen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilliam Jannis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Michael Boffin in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Charles-Louis Van Der Straeten prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Arthur Claevers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Charles-Louis Van Der Straeten tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With 73 minutes on the clock, Rolf Vereijt commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enzo Minnen in the 79th minute of play forced Quintessence's goalkeeper Gilliam Jannis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Camiel Haeselaers managed to get in a good position for a shot. Herbesthal's supporters rose to their feet, but Camiel Haeselaers was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gilliam Jannis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 88 minutes into the match, Frits Petermans dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Gilliam Jannis, 1-5. Charles-Louis Van Der Straeten showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Michael Boffin in the 97th minute of the match. Michael Boffin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Quintessence supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Herbesthal's performance. The match ended with a win for Herbesthal.
