Cercle H&H's Kenneth Humbelets played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xander Verlinden in the 3rd minute of play. Xander Verlinden fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kenneth Humbelets having to interfere. Kenneth Humbelets dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 21st minute, Joery Van Gijsel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Claus Van Aertvin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicolas Sens in the 25th minute of play forced Club brugge's goalkeeper Mathias Van Gele to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 26th minute, Claus Van Aertvin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 29thth minute of the game Nicolas Sens who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Club brugge's Mathias Van Gele was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Cercle H&H booed when Club brugge was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Herbert Smeulders didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Cercle H&H's Claus Van Aertvin in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Club brugge's goalie prevented a goal. In the 59th minute Romain De Deygere shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mathias Van Gele saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Romain De Deygere had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mathias Van Gele showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claus Van Aertvin, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Xander Verlinden fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kenneth Humbelets having to interfere. Cercle H&H's Romain De Deygere suffered a concussion in the 75th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Lauren Van Acker's late challenge caught a Cercle H&H's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lauren Van Acker helped the player get up and apologised. Lauren Van Acker hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Xander Verlinden sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 82nd minute Claus Van Aertvin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mathias Van Gele saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nicolas Sens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kenneth Humbelets made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xander Verlinden in the 86th minute of play. Mathias Van Gele stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Claus Van Aertvin's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. Nicolas Sens hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Xander Verlinden struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Kenneth Humbelets didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club brugge. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
