The audience was convinced that Ruud Dockx's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Oliver Vrijdag was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. Stefan Van Haeght's late challenge caught a Clemenza Papi Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Stefan Van Haeght helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to kvk Avelgem getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Stefan Van Haeght hit a great ball. Kenneth Wiggers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Christian Van Deyck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Teo Reijniers managed to get in a good position for a shot. Clemenza Papi Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Teo Reijniers was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Christian Van Deyck breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Edgard Rockloos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Oliver Vrijdag tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Teo Reijniers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christian Van Deyck having to interfere. After 21 played minutes Clemenza Papi Club got a freekick which was hit by Kenneth Wiggers. Tran Omblet recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Henri-Xavier Claessens in the 35th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Christian Van Deyck kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 1-0 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. Clemenza Papi Club's Gert Standaerts got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 42 played minutes Henri-Xavier Claessens rounded kvk Avelgem's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Henri-Xavier Claessens in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Christian Van Deyck saved kvk Avelgem from getting behind. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edgard Rockloos to make the kick off. In the 52nd match minute, Clemenza Papi Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yanis Suetens to maneuver through the defense. The long shot by Bjorn Depelsmaker in the 53rd minute really tested Oliver Vrijdag's skills. Christian Van Deyck made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. When Ruud Dockx came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the kvk Avelgem fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ruud Dockx couldn't finish the play. After 69 played minutes, kvk Avelgem's Jeoffrey Sproten shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Oliver Vrijdag came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in kvk Avelgem reached it. In the 77th minute, Ruud Dockx got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Oliver Vrijdag took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgard Rockloos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kenneth Wiggers during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
