Lokomotiv Wijgmaal's Carel Vandenbosch played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isidoor Damman in the 3rd minute of play. Dreas Jonckers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Carel Vandenbosch tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 11 played minutes Lokomotiv Wijgmaal got a freekick which was hit by Joey Roelants. Carel Vandenbosch showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isidoor Damman in the 16th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Evergem's Isidoor Damman slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Carel Vandenbosch. That made the score 1-0 after 18 minutes of play. Carel Vandenbosch showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isidoor Damman, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Isidoor Damman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carel Vandenbosch having to interfere. The supporters of Evergem booed when Lokomotiv Wijgmaal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joey Roelants didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Richey Verhasselt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Richey Verhasselt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. George Vrints tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Richey Verhasselt's late challenge caught a Evergem's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Richey Verhasselt to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isidoor Damman in the 53rd minute of play forced Lokomotiv Wijgmaal's goalkeeper Carel Vandenbosch to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Matias Van Arschot during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 55th match minute, Evergem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matias Van Arschot to maneuver through the defense. In the 83rd minute, Dreas Jonckers got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 88 minutes, Dreas Jonckers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Evergem's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dreas Jonckers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Isidoor Damman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Isidoor Damman in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carel Vandenbosch prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Richey Verhasselt was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 94th minute. Lokomotiv Wijgmaal's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 95th minute, Lucas Delcroix hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Evergem's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
