Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Nicolaas De Kerpel kicked off to start the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Norbert Wijnants in the 3rd minute of play forced VC United's goalkeeper Boris Volckaerts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Boris Volckaerts made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adam de Pelsmaecker in the 7th minute of play. 9 minutes into the match, KEG Gistel's goal looked a bit too open when Nicolaas De Kerpel came free, but Steven Timmermans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Nicolaas De Kerpel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Steven Timmermans was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. In the 17th minute, VC United's Nicolaas De Kerpel dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Nicolaas De Kerpel took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Steven Timmermans to make any attempt to save it. 25 minutes into the game, Jarno Camps was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. KEG Gistel's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave VC United the free kick. Jarno Camps hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, VC United's Benjamin Maeijnarts tried to score from far away in the 26th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Steven Timmermans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicolaas De Kerpel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, KEG Gistel's Adam de Pelsmaecker got a free kick in the 30th minute. 32 minutes into the match, VC United's Nicolaas De Kerpel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Steven Timmermans narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Adam de Pelsmaecker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Norbert Wijnants received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Boris Volckaerts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Willem-Jan Wagemans during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of KEG Gistel booed when VC United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Willem-Jan Wagemans didn't get a good kick on the ball. Boris Volckaerts stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adam de Pelsmaecker's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. After some careless play in the KEG Gistel defense, Kamiel Theuniers kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Steven Timmermans. The KEG Gistel fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Steven Timmermans should have stopped the shot. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

54 minutes into the match, KEG Gistel's goal looked a bit too open when Kamiel Theuniers came free, but Steven Timmermans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Steven Timmermans showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicolaas De Kerpel, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. After having played for 56 minutes, Norbert Wijnants managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KEG Gistel's supporters crossed their fingers, but Norbert Wijnants was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adam de Pelsmaecker during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 58th minute, Adam de Pelsmaecker hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to KEG Gistel getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Jarno Camps hit a great ball. In the 64th match minute, VC United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kamiel Theuniers to maneuver through the defense. Adam de Pelsmaecker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boris Volckaerts having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Yanick Van Herendael during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to VC United getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Yanick Van Herendael hit a great ball. In the 75th play minute Adam de Pelsmaecker came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Boris Volckaerts. 3-1. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind VC United's goalkeeper Boris Volckaerts, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Adam de Pelsmaecker could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Boris Volckaerts made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kamiel Theuniers in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Steven Timmermans saved KEG Gistel from getting behind. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. VC United had won after a very even match.
