After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Norbert Wijnants managed to get in a good position for a shot. KEG Gistel's supporters rose to their feet, but Norbert Wijnants was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rajmond Emeleers breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Norbert Wijnants came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the KEG Gistel fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Norbert Wijnants couldn't finish the play. When David Serneels fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wolfsburg's protests and gave David Serneels a yellow card for diving instead. After 17 played minutes Wolfsburg got a freekick which was hit by Yannik Fierens. Norbert Wijnants fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rajmond Emeleers having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Norbert Wijnants in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rajmond Emeleers saved Wolfsburg from getting behind. Adam de Pelsmaecker struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Rajmond Emeleers didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KEG Gistel. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Norbert Wijnants managed to get in a good position for a shot. KEG Gistel's supporters rose to their feet, but Norbert Wijnants was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rajmond Emeleers breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Norbert Wijnants received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rajmond Emeleers came out and tried to block the shot, but Norbert Wijnants slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 28th minute. An unexpected shot in the 32nd minute by Adam de Pelsmaecker got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 33 minutes into the match, Norbert Wijnants notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Wolfsburg's Rajmond Emeleers. Rajmond Emeleers was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Yannik Fierens hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. When KEG Gistel's Adam de Pelsmaecker, in the 43rd minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for KEG Gistel. Norbert Wijnants fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rajmond Emeleers having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Renaut Dujardin was the one to do the kick off. When Gerrit Stoffels fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wolfsburg's protests and gave Gerrit Stoffels a yellow card for diving instead. Wolfsburg's Rajmond Emeleers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Norbert Wijnants in the 54th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Norbert Wijnants in the 63rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rajmond Emeleers prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Norbert Wijnants in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rajmond Emeleers saved Wolfsburg from getting behind. Henri Delen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Steven Timmermans made a huge save. Rajmond Emeleers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adam de Pelsmaecker in the 77th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Norbert Wijnants managed to get in a good position for a shot. KEG Gistel's supporters rose to their feet, but Norbert Wijnants was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rajmond Emeleers breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Wolfsburg getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Yannik Fierens hit a great ball. 88 minutes into the game, Norbert Wijnants was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. KEG Gistel's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wolfsburg the free kick. The supporters of Wolfsburg booed when KEG Gistel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Norbert Wijnants didn't get a good kick on the ball. The KEG Gistel fans' excitement grew in the 91st match minute when KEG Gistel's Adam de Pelsmaecker looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 96 minutes into the game, Norbert Wijnants cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Rajmond Emeleers was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the referee ended the match the KEG Gistel players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
