FC Betelgeuse's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Wayne de Vleeschouwer ran over to the corner to take the kick. Purple Chanseys's Rik Ottevaere was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Oscar Deman in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Mattheo Vercammen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emiel Van Den Eynden, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Frits Gramet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Oscar Deman was out of position in the 35 minute of play, and Frits Gramet capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Frits Gramet really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. FC Betelgeuse's Oscar Deman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frits Gramet in the 39th minute of play. A collision led to FC Betelgeuse getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Emiel Van Den Eynden hit a great ball. Frits Gramet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oscar Deman having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in FC Betelgeuse's zone, Izak De Fauw stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oscar Deman came out of the goal and Izak De Fauw tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Charl Le Lion to strike the kick off in the second half. After 54 minutes of play, Purple Chanseys's Izak De Fauw made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Oscar Deman was left in no man's land by his defense there! Purple Chanseys's Rik Ottevaere managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Josef De Muysere in the 58 minute of the game. A collision led to Purple Chanseys getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Jordi Vissenaeckens hit a great ball. Oscar Deman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Clive Sim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 71st minute, Charl Le Lion reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Mattheo Vercammen. The goal made the score 2-1. In the 76th minute, Frits Gramet got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the FC Betelgeuse defense, Wayne de Vleeschouwer kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Oscar Deman. The FC Betelgeuse fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Oscar Deman should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Purple Chanseys booed when FC Betelgeuse was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xavier Theijs didn't get a good kick on the ball.
