Perry Decock sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jannick Van Cruchten recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Perry Decock was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 11th minute. Melsele's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. If Jannick Van Cruchten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Peter Van Den Linden fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Melsele's protests and gave Peter Van Den Linden a yellow card for diving instead. With a little luck, Wicked Hippies FC's Joseph Leers got control of the ball when Jannick Van Cruchten tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 19 minutes, Tjorven Hustinx managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wicked Hippies FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tjorven Hustinx was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gill Vandekerkhove charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gill Vandekerkhove the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 20th minute of the game. One of Melsele:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Wicked Hippies FC:s goal. Tjorven Hustinx received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Alain Maeijnarts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Melsele's Alain Maeijnarts played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tjorven Hustinx in the 27th minute of play. Jannick Van Cruchten fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joseph Leers having to interfere. Alain van Bedts kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Melsele's zone, Tjorven Hustinx stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alain Maeijnarts came out of the goal and Tjorven Hustinx tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 43rd minute, Tjorven Hustinx ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alain Maeijnarts was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Boudewijn Reyniers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

Alain Maeijnarts showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tjorven Hustinx, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alain van Bedts during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Alain van Bedts hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Wicked Hippies FC's Tjorven Hustinx got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Boudewijn Reyniers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alain Maeijnarts having to interfere. If Jannick Van Cruchten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tjorven Hustinx succeeded in the game's 70th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-3. A collision led to Wicked Hippies FC getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Alain van Bedts hit a great ball. In the 73rdth minute of the game Jannick Van Cruchten who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Wicked Hippies FC's Joseph Leers was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Wicked Hippies FC's zone, Jannick Van Cruchten stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joseph Leers came out of the goal and Jannick Van Cruchten tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jannick Van Cruchten blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joseph Leers having to make a save. In the 83rd match minute, Wicked Hippies FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ray Smeulders to maneuver through the defense. Melsele's Gill Vandekerkhove couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 84th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Wicked Hippies FC. After a defensive mix-up in Wicked Hippies FC's zone, Jannick Van Cruchten stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joseph Leers came out of the goal and Jannick Van Cruchten tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Wicked Hippies FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Wicked Hippies FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
