The audience was convinced that Jesse Poortmans's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Charles Verbruggen was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. Roy Wigers made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Matthis Goosens sent off a good shot on target. In the 16thth minute of the game Herald Bastiaens who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dassenaarde's Charles Verbruggen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Charles Verbruggen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Herald Bastiaens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dassenaarde's Charles Verbruggen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herald Bastiaens in the 39th minute of play. Charles Verbruggen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jesse Poortmans, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. In the 46th minute, Jesse Poortmans made a precise shot to the right of Charles Verbruggen. Dassenaarde's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jesse Poortmans stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Charles Verbruggen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jesse Poortmans in the 51st minute of the match. Charles Verbruggen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 75 minutes into the match, Dassenaarde's goalkeeper Charles Verbruggen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Herald Bastiaens. 76 minutes into the match, Dassenaarde's goal looked a bit too open when Jesse Poortmans came free, but Charles Verbruggen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Charles Verbruggen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jesse Poortmans in the 88th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jesse Poortmans in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Charles Verbruggen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Dassenaarde's Hugo Maerschalk got a free kick in the 92nd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jesse Poortmans in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Charles Verbruggen saved Dassenaarde from getting behind. The Arsenal F.C players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
