Gust Driesen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 5th minute, Gust Driesen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as La poste FC's Guust Van Huele slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Luka Smets. That made the score 1-0 after 14 minutes of play. Christian Engelborghs recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Christian Engelborghs in the 23rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Luka Smets, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When Arnold Klijnhens fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored RSC Anderlecht's protests and gave Arnold Klijnhens a yellow card for diving instead. It was beautiful to see La poste FC's Dries vrolijx in action when he in the 29th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Guust Van Huele struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Luka Smets didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for La poste FC. When the match clock showed 36 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Christian Engelborghs sped through RSC Anderlecht's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Luka Smets. Sergio Van Hallebeeck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luka Smets having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

RSC Anderlecht's Luka Smets played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guust Van Huele in the 57th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guust Van Huele in the 61st minute of play forced RSC Anderlecht's goalkeeper Luka Smets to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, RSC Anderlecht's Ramon Weijgaerts got a free kick in the 61st minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Guust Van Huele in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luka Smets prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Guust Van Huele might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luka Smets. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Guust Van Huele ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Guust Van Huele managed to get in a good position for a shot. La poste FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Guust Van Huele was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luka Smets breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Guust Van Huele sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mattijs van Eijnde's late challenge caught a La poste FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mattijs van Eijnde helped the player get up and apologised. The referee gave La poste FC a penalty, 85 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Tommy Standaers, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of RSC Anderlecht's Luka Smets. 6-0. Guust Van Huele scored 7-0 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luka Smets, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. La poste FC's Dries vrolijx got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bill Clinckspoor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Luka Smets tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Guust Van Huele in the 98th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luka Smets prevented the ball from getting in the gole. La poste FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
