Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) BC grimbergen's Erik Verlinden started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Erik Verlinden recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 13 minutes into the game, Guilian Grammet cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Frederic Waeberghe was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Roni de Koninck hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. 20 minutes in the game, Chris-George De Coster fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Amaury Philippaerts having to interfere. Mathias-Alexander Van Eersel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Amaury Philippaerts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mathias-Alexander Van Eersel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. The nice shot from Chris-George De Coster in the 42ndth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Amaury Philippaerts had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. If Guilian Grammet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guilian Grammet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mathias-Alexander Van Eersel to strike the kick off in the second half. Franck Ivens hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. 56 minutes into the match, BC grimbergen's goal looked a bit too open when Chris-George De Coster came free, but Amaury Philippaerts reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Amaury Philippaerts made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mathias-Alexander Van Eersel in the 58th minute of play. Gunther Melkval's late challenge caught a BC grimbergen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gunther Melkval helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Birmingham United getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Gunther Melkval hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Laurend Saelens during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 64th minute of the game. One of BC grimbergen:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Birmingham United:s goal. Mike Coryn hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Birmingham United's Mathias-Alexander Van Eersel got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dolf Van Kelf during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 76 played minutes Birmingham United got a freekick which was hit by Dolf Van Kelf. BC grimbergen's Erik Verlinden got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Amaury Philippaerts showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mathias-Alexander Van Eersel, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. When Chris-George De Coster came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Birmingham United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chris-George De Coster couldn't finish the play. Mathias-Alexander Van Eersel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Chris-George De Coster managed to get in a good position for a shot. Birmingham United's supporters rose to their feet, but Chris-George De Coster was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amaury Philippaerts breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 100 minutes, Geoffry Soens mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the BC grimbergen and the Birmingham United players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 100th match minute, BC grimbergen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geoffry Soens to maneuver through the defense. Amaury Philippaerts stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Chris-George De Coster's shot from short distance in the 101st minute. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
