Club Zwalm's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thierry De Kijser was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 14th minute, Thierry De Kijser made a precise shot to the right of Bjorn Acke. FC Diest's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Andris Bollaert hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Bjorn Acke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dre Van Leemputte, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. If Dre Van Leemputte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Club Zwalm's Thierry De Kijser in the 23rd minute got a chance for a shot 23rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Diest's goalie prevented a goal. Club Zwalm's Thierry De Kijser got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dre Van Leemputte's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bjorn Acke read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. The supporters of Club Zwalm booed when FC Diest was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nico Maerschalckx didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dre Van Leemputte recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thierry De Kijser sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Dre Van Leemputte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Siebe Goens was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 37 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in FC Diest fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 36th minute. Penalty! Bjorn Acke went to the wrong direction when Ruben de Vleeschouwer was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. In the 41st minute Thierry De Kijser shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bjorn Acke saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 42ndth minute of the game Dre Van Leemputte who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Diest's Bjorn Acke was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Lennart Paschiers in the 59th minute of play forced FC Diest's goalkeeper Bjorn Acke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 62 minutes, Lennart Paschiers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Zwalm's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lennart Paschiers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dre Van Leemputte struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Bjorn Acke didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Zwalm. Thierry De Kijser fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bjorn Acke having to interfere. In the 68th minute, Club Zwalm's Dre Van Leemputte dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-5. Dre Van Leemputte blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bjorn Acke having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Nico Maerschalckx managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Diest's supporters rose to their feet, but Nico Maerschalckx was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pascal Van De Wiele breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 80th minute, Club Zwalm's Dre Van Leemputte dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-6. Thierry De Kijser struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Bjorn Acke didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Zwalm. With his leg Bjorn Acke managed to avoid a goal in the 92ndth minute, when Club Zwalm's Thierry De Kijser fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a rather tough play, FC Diest's Geert Rosbach got a free kick in the 93rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Thierry De Kijser managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Zwalm's supporters rose to their feet, but Thierry De Kijser was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bjorn Acke breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The FC Diest fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Club Zwalm were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
