Borussia Merkezeel 1925's Jakob Schamp got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jacobus Van Cleynenbreugel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Frederic Waeberghe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 19th match minute, Borussia Merkezeel 1925 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Louis Kempenaerts to maneuver through the defense. Anthony De Spiegeleire kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. After 23 played minutes, Borussia Merkezeel 1925's Bernd Van Achteren shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Frederic Waeberghe came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Borussia Merkezeel 1925 reached it. A collision led to Birmingham United getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Gunther Melkval hit a great ball. Jerom Caes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mathias-Alexander Van Eersel, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Mathias-Alexander Van Eersel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerom Caes having to interfere. When Mathias-Alexander Van Eersel came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Birmingham United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mathias-Alexander Van Eersel couldn't finish the play. Borussia Merkezeel 1925's Jerom Caes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chris-George De Coster in the 33rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Chris-George De Coster managed to get in a good position for a shot. Birmingham United's supporters rose to their feet, but Chris-George De Coster was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jerom Caes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Chris-George De Coster recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mathias-Alexander Van Eersel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Jerom Caes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 43 minutes into the match, Birmingham United's Mathias-Alexander Van Eersel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jerom Caes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Borussia Merkezeel 1925's Franky van der Eycken got a free kick in the 44th minute. In the 46th minute of the match Anthony De Spiegeleire shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jerom Caes showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After the first half Birmingham United were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mathias-Alexander Van Eersel made a kick off. Karel-Jan Wijgaert hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. If Mathias-Alexander Van Eersel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Chris-George De Coster got free with Jerom Caes in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mathias-Alexander Van Eersel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jerom Caes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. When Chris-George De Coster came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Birmingham United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chris-George De Coster couldn't finish the play. 69 minutes into the match, Borussia Merkezeel 1925's goal looked a bit too open when Mathias-Alexander Van Eersel came free, but Jerom Caes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 71 minutes into the match, Borussia Merkezeel 1925's Jacobus Van Cleynenbreugel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Frederic Waeberghe narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 75th minute Jakob Schamp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frederic Waeberghe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Borussia Merkezeel 1925's zone, Chris-George De Coster stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jerom Caes came out of the goal and Chris-George De Coster tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Mathias-Alexander Van Eersel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Borussia Merkezeel 1925's Jerom Caes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mathias-Alexander Van Eersel in the 84th minute of play. Tristan Verdonk charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tristan Verdonk the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Borussia Merkezeel 1925 getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Tristan Verdonk hit a great ball. Chris-George De Coster sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Birmingham United's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
