Spectators: 6964 (Terracing: 5500, Seating: 1460, VIP seats: 4) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Erik Verlinden started the match with the kick off. When BC grimbergen's Erik Verlinden in the 3rd minute got a chance for a shot 3rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Diest's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erik Verlinden in the 6th minute of play forced FC Diest's goalkeeper Bjorn Acke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC Diest's Andris Bollaert got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Amaury Philippaerts made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andris Bollaert in the 14th minute of play. 16 minutes into the game, Mike Coryn was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. BC grimbergen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Diest the free kick. In the 16th match minute, BC grimbergen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mike Coryn to maneuver through the defense. In the 18th match minute, FC Diest was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geert Rosbach to maneuver through the defense. BC grimbergen's Guilian Grammet got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Andris Bollaert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 27 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for BC grimbergen! Amaury Philippaerts had in the 29thth minute some difficulties stopping Siebe Goens's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erik Verlinden in the 30th minute of play forced FC Diest's goalkeeper Bjorn Acke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 43rd minute Guy Vrolijcx shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amaury Philippaerts saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 44th match minute, BC grimbergen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roni de Koninck to maneuver through the defense. Andris Bollaert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amaury Philippaerts having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Andris Bollaert could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Amaury Philippaerts made a huge save. Amaury Philippaerts showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guy Vrolijcx, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guilian Grammet in the 73rd minute of play forced FC Diest's goalkeeper Bjorn Acke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Andris Bollaert came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the FC Diest fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andris Bollaert couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Guilian Grammet managed to get in a good position for a shot. BC grimbergen's supporters rose to their feet, but Guilian Grammet was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bjorn Acke breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Guilian Grammet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erik Verlinden blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bjorn Acke having to make a save. BC grimbergen's defense didn't have a chance, in the 96th minute, when Guy Vrolijcx scored to the left of an out of position Amaury Philippaerts, making the score, 0-2. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched FC Diest eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
