In the 5th minute, Christopher Van Caubergen made a precise shot to the right of Gert-Jan Armentier. SC Halle's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 8 minutes into the match, VC Waregem's goal looked a bit too open when Jasper Van Essche came free, but Luk Ryers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 10 minutes into the game, VC Waregem's Guust Verheijt nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gert-Jan Armentier made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. SC Halle's Jason Klijnhens was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Luk Ryers in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Guust Verheijt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gert-Jan Armentier having to interfere. In the 30th match minute, VC Waregem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frederic Verbruggen to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jasper Van Essche in the 31st minute of play forced VC Waregem's goalkeeper Luk Ryers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 33 minutes VC Waregem's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jason Klijnhens who took care of the corner kick. Jorg Deconynck was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jose de Vleeschouwer during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 40 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for VC Waregem! In the 42nd minute of the game, SC Halle got a penalty. The shot went straight in by the left post. Jasper Van Essche sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Christopher Van Caubergen was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, SC Halle's Jacob Clijsters got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Christopher Van Caubergen received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gert-Jan Armentier came out and tried to block the shot, but Christopher Van Caubergen slotted it home off the left post making it 2-3 in the 55th minute. Jasper Van Essche recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Jasper Van Essche had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to VC Waregem getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Daniel Milters hit a great ball. Jasper Van Essche struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Luk Ryers didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Halle. 70 minutes into the game, VC Waregem's Guust Verheijt nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gert-Jan Armentier made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-4. With a little luck, SC Halle's Gert-Jan Armentier got control of the ball when Guust Verheijt tried to sneak it across the goal line. Although SC Halle had been in control for most of the match, VC Waregem still came away with the win.
