Spectators: 6000 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Ivan Lanphant got the match started through his kick off. 8 minutes into the match, Anderlecht's goal looked a bit too open when Lennart Lannoye came free, but Jozef Theys reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ivan Lanphant received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Gert-Jan Armentier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 13th minute Jasper Van Essche shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jozef Theys saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 17th minute, Ivan Lanphant got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 25 minutes of play, SC Halle's Jasper Van Essche made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jozef Theys was left in no man's land by his defense there! 30 minutes into the game, Maurus van Hacht was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Anderlecht's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Halle the free kick. In the 30th match minute, Anderlecht was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maurus van Hacht to maneuver through the defense. Reinard Gebuers recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jasper Van Essche took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jozef Theys. Jozef Theys dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jasper Van Essche to make the kick off. The supporters of SC Halle booed when Anderlecht was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adolf Rondas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 61st minute, Robert Mesmaekers hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Reinard Gebuers came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the SC Halle fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Reinard Gebuers couldn't finish the play. If Reinard Gebuers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jozef Theys showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jasper Van Essche, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Jozef Theys made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Reinard Gebuers sent off a good shot on target. In the 86th minute, Thomas Van Arschot hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice moves Reinard Gebuers could shoot a difficult shot in the 90th minute, which Jozef Theys however easily saved by the left post. If Ivan Lanphant had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ivan Lanphant sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Anderlecht fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. SC Halle were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
