Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Gertjan Calewaerts took the kick off in the first half of the match. Mickael Loos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Christof De Malier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Christof De Malier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gertjan Calewaerts, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Yens Verdonckt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mickael Loos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 13th match minute, Stabroek was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Harold Vollens to maneuver through the defense. KSV Brecht's Gertjan Calewaerts got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Yens Verdonckt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Yens Verdonckt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Sergio De Malier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Stabroek defense, Mickael Loos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Christof De Malier. The Stabroek fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Christof De Malier should have stopped the shot. In the 33rd minute Pieter Vissenaekens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sergio De Malier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pieter-Jan Valckenaerts scored 1-1 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sergio De Malier, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 42nd match minute, KSV Brecht was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gery Verheecke to maneuver through the defense. Pieter Vissenaekens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sergio De Malier having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
A collision led to KSV Brecht getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Ward Michiels hit a great ball. After some careless play in the KSV Brecht defense, Yens Verdonckt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sergio De Malier. The KSV Brecht fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sergio De Malier should have stopped the shot. Stabroek's Yens Verdonckt pulled a muscle in his back after 58 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Sergio De Malier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yens Verdonckt, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. 58 minutes into the game, Rens Van de cauter was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. KSV Brecht's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Stabroek the free kick. 57 minutes into the game, one of KSV Brecht:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 60th minute there was a penalty for Stabroek. Etienne Leempoels stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Sergio De Malier. 3-1. After 63 played minutes Stabroek got a freekick which was hit by Harold Vollens. After 67 played minutes KSV Brecht got a freekick which was hit by Jacque Stas. In the 71st minute Gertjan Calewaerts shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christof De Malier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 74 minutes into the match, KSV Brecht's goal looked a bit too open when Pieter Vissenaekens came free, but Sergio De Malier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Pieter Vissenaekens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Georges De Smedt in the 78th minute of play forced KSV Brecht's goalkeeper Sergio De Malier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 80 minutes into the match, Pieter-Jan Valckenaerts had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sergio De Malier. KSV Brecht's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pieter-Jan Valckenaerts was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. Pieter Vissenaekens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sergio De Malier having to interfere. Sergio De Malier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Harold Vollens in the 87th minute of play. When Pieter Vissenaekens came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Stabroek fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pieter Vissenaekens couldn't finish the play. Harold Vollens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Sergio De Malier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
