Spectators: 6726 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 0) After 3 minutes of play, Stabroek's Pieter Vissenaekens made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sergio De Malier was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 10th minute Pieter Vissenaekens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sergio De Malier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Stabroek booed when KSV Brecht was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacque Stas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stabroek's Yens Verdonckt got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With an all-out effort, KSV Brecht's Christof De Malier threw himself towards the right post 17 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gertjan Calewaerts, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a rather tough play, KSV Brecht's Rens Van de cauter got a free kick in the 21st minute. Stabroek's Pieter Vissenaekens got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mickael Loos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Christof De Malier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sergio De Malier stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pieter Vissenaekens's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yens Verdonckt in the 28th minute of play forced KSV Brecht's goalkeeper Sergio De Malier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Yens Verdonckt took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sergio De Malier. Sergio De Malier dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After having played for 32 minutes, Pieter Vissenaekens managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Stabroek's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pieter Vissenaekens was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Yens Verdonckt struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Sergio De Malier didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stabroek. Pieter-Jan Valckenaerts's late challenge caught a KSV Brecht's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pieter-Jan Valckenaerts helped the player get up and apologised. After 37 played minutes Stabroek got a freekick which was hit by Harold Vollens. With a little luck, Stabroek's Christof De Malier got control of the ball when Mickael Loos tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of KSV Brecht booed when Stabroek was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Georges De Smedt didn't get a good kick on the ball. 42 minutes into the match, Stabroek's goalkeeper Christof De Malier had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mickael Loos. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jacque Stas during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to KSV Brecht getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Jacque Stas hit a great ball. In the 45th minute, Etienne Leempoels sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and KSV Brecht's Sergio De Malier didn't even have to move. When Stabroek's Yens Verdonckt in the 49th minute got a chance for a shot 49th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye KSV Brecht's goalie prevented a goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gertjan Calewaerts to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Harold Vollens managed to get in a good position for a shot. Stabroek's supporters rose to their feet, but Harold Vollens was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sergio De Malier breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mickael Loos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gertjan Calewaerts received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Christof De Malier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stabroek's Pieter Vissenaekens got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The goalkeeper, Sergio De Malier, was totally fooled by Stabroek's Etienne Leempoels, who 82 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Christof De Malier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gertjan Calewaerts, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Yens Verdonckt struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Sergio De Malier didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stabroek. Yens Verdonckt was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 94th minute. Stabroek's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Pieter Vissenaekens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Sergio De Malier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Gertjan Calewaerts had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 103rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stabroek's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
